I’ve been snagging awards every season since I left my hometown for a bigger national market, with projects that sometimes stretch beyond the traditional briefs. But see: my daily work involves less-shiny things. (While they can be just as bright.) On a typical day, you’ll find me creating brand platforms, building pitch decks, and writing films — usually comedy, though most scripts die tragically.

This is exactly what I did for a long time in Brazil for brands of the likes of Danone, Honda, LG, Santander, Telefônica, Uber Eats, and Visa. (Much of which you won’t find in this book due to translation problemos.)

And this is exactly what I’ve continued doing for Coca-Cola (and occasional special projects) since being offered a job transfer to the U.S. three-and-a-half years ago.

This is exactly what I didn’t do during my year-and-a-half break from advertising, when this popular TV network invited me to come up with entertainment formats and pilots. Driven by a rare lack of self-restraint, I also directed, edited, and even appeared in front of the cameras (on purpose).

The awards from the 2024 edition helped VML New York become the most awarded office within the network and contributed to Coca-Cola’s title of Creative Brand of the Year with their top-scoring entry in the history of Cannes (“Thanks for Coke-Creating”).

The campaign awarded in 2023 was VMLY&R’s first Lion for the new client Coca-Cola.

The campaign awarded in 2022 helped VMLY&R São Paulo become the second most awarded agency in Brazil.
